An adult female loggerhead sea turtle named Swim Shady has been released back into the Atlantic Ocean.
She was treated at Loggerhead Marinelife Center in Juno Beach, Florida, after suffering injuries from a boat strike.
On Monday, volunteers helped her return to the ocean. Swim Shady underwent surgery and recovered with antibiotics and supportive care.
Dozens of people captured the moment with cell phone videos and photos as she crawled back into the water.
With nesting season in Florida running from March 1 to October 31, officials are urging boaters to slow down and be mindful of the sea turtle protection zone.
All sea turtles are considered endangered or threatened species.
