Days after replacing most of their coaching staff, the Woodstock Navy Vets earned a point in an overtime loss Sunday in Wellesley.
Owen Ireton scored twice and added an assist for the Navy Vets (8-4-3), who sit three points back of the Applejacks for top spot in the Provincial Junior Hockey League’s Doherty Division. Cooper Vickerman had the other goal, and Liam Gorman added a pair of helpers. Tyler Bouck made 35 saves.
Luke Schofield and Hudson Parker each scored twice for Wellesley. Parker’s second tally came 1:53 into OT. Xavier Bussiere stopped 31 shots.
Both teams went 0-for-4 on the power play.
Woodstock had a different look behind the bench in Wellesley. The club announced late last week it had fired head coach Justin Elms and assistants Chris Thompson, Chris Nauts and Chris Jen
