The 2026 congressional midterm elections are exactly one year away, and Democrats appear more enthusiastic about casting a ballot than Republicans, according to a new CNN poll .

The poll found that among registered voters who describe themselves as extremely motivated to vote in the midterms, 67% are Democrats and Democratic-leaning voters compared with 46% who are Republicans.

The poll also found that if the election were held today, 47% of registered voters would vote for a Democrat in their district compared to the 42% who would vote for a Republican.

According to the poll, Democrats have an edge over Republicans, but GOP voters view their party more favorably than Democratic voters do.
