HOUSTON, Texas — Found guilty and sentenced to life last month for the death of her husband, former Douglas County resident Sarah Hartsfield has filed a notice of appeal.
According to reporting from Fox 26 out of Houston, Texas, Hartsfield's two attorneys and a court-appointed investigator have filed a motion to withdraw from her case.
On Oct. 8, a jury found Hartsfield guilty of murder in the death of her fifth husband, Joseph, Fox 26 reported.
She was convicted of giving him a lethal dose of insulin and waiting to call 911.
Joseph Hartsfield died in January 2023.
Officials said Joseph Hartsfield, who was 46, had diabetes, adding that his insulin levels were extremely high in the four to six hours that preceded a 911 call made by Sarah Hartsfield, according to a report by ABC13 Eyewi
