TOWN OF NEW HAVEN, N.Y. (WSYR-TV) -- Human remains found in the Town of New Haven have been identified as an Oswego County man who went missing in 2012.

On Sept. 1, the property owner of 451 Darrow Road in the Town of New Haven was clearing a trail through wooded property when he found what appeared to be human remains.

The Oswego County Sheriff's Office responded to the report, and through DNA comparison, the remains were positively identified as belonging to John T. Humphrey, born Nov. 21, 1963, of Oswego.

Humphrey was last seen on June 2, 2012, walking along State Route 104, near the New Haven Fire Department, after leaving his residence at the Sumatra Apartment complex on Birch Lane in the Town of Scriba.
