WACO, Texas — Several McLennan County offices were evacuated Monday after a gas leak was reported in the alley behind the county courthouse, officials said.
According to county officials, the Courthouse, Annex, MOB/Purchasing and old IT Building were cleared out as a safety precaution. Atmos Energy requested that the offices remain closed for the rest of the day while crews responded to the leak.
No injuries were reported, and normal operations are expected to resume at 8 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 4.
Officials urged residents to avoid the area while Atmos crews complete repairs and safety checks.
