BLOOMINGTON, Ill. (WMBD) -- WMBD is continuing to highlight veterans voices from across our region. This week, we're meeting a father/son duo who continue to advocate for veteran honor flights.

Roger Lancaster is a Korean War era Air force veteran. He served from 1955-1959.

"I was just proud to be an American," said Roger. "I was proud to be a veteran. But I was, I guess you might say I'm in despair because so many people lost their lives in World War II and Vietnam and Korea and Afghanistan and Iraq. You can go on and on and on. Desert Storm. Desert Shield."

In 2016, he and his son Kevin were honored with a trip to Washington D.C. through the Land of Lincoln Honor Flight.
