“Super cool,” Cowan said after the morning skate at Scotiabank Arena. “A hockey legend. I’m just going to enjoy it and treat it as another game.
“I’m a big fan. Such a great hockey player, and the stories you hear about him go a long way, what kind of guy he is.”
Cowan had to take extra time to check his phone late on Saturday night after he scored in the third period of the Leafs’ 5-2 win in Philadelphia against the Flyers.
