With the latest winners crowned for the New York City Marathon Sunday morning, the 2025 series of World Marathon Majors has concluded.
Benson Kipruto and Hellen Obiri won the men’s and women’s races, respectively, the former being the seventh major winner this year to wear Adidas . When it comes to shoes, Adidas was absolutely dominant in 2025. The next closest competitor was On, which took two of the 12 winning spots this year, Obiri being the second.
After Adidas and On, no brand was worn by more than one winner in the six majors. Nike, Asics and Under Armour had one winner a piece, the former in Chicago and the latter two in Boston.
