SALT LAKE CITY – Two University of Utah seniors are celebrating a life-changing moment after winning $250,000 during ESPN’s College GameDay broadcast ahead of Saturday’s game against the Cincinnati Bearcats.

Garrett Morris and Jonah Knubel didn’t know each other before the contest, but they walked away as partners — and each of them $125,000 richer.

The college seniors both spent Friday night camping out on Presidents Circle to secure a spot for the live show. That dedication earned them raffle tickets for a chance to participate in a kicking contest created by host and former NFL punter Pat McAfee.

Each week, one student attempts a 33-yard field goal for a cash prize.
