Chapel on the Green at 107 W. Center St. in Yorkville will host a veterans tribute ceremony on Sunday, Nov. 9, during which the stories of six veterans will be shared.

At 1 p.m. those attending can view military artifacts and a memorabilia display, with the program of speakers to begin at 2 p.m. Refreshments and a social hour will follow the program, organizers said.

One story that will be told is that of Emil “Bud” Farren, a World War II prisoner of war. The story will be told by his son Jeff and daughter Diane.

While Emil Farren never discussed that time of his life, Jeff Farren spent many years doing research and has decided to tell his dad’s story, event organizers said.
