CHILTON COUNTY, Ala. (WIAT) -- An Autauga County woman was killed in a Chilton County crash early Monday morning, according to the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency.

Jessica Fortenberry, 54, was a passenger in a Chrysler Town and Country. She was fatally injured when the minivan departed the roadway and hit a tree. The crash happened around 2:45 a.m. on Chilton County 36 near Chilton County 76.

Fortenberry, who reportedly was not wearing a seat belt, was ejected from the vehicle. The Billingsley woman died at the scene.

The driver of the Chrysler was injured and taken to UAB Hospital.
