Former Indiana University All-American Khayla Dawson, who competed in shot put at the 2024 U.S. Olympic Team Trials , has been arrested and charged with murder, according to the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office .

Dawson was arrested last week after an Uber driver was found dead in a field in El Paso County, Colo., according to 9News in Denver .

She has been charged with first-degree murder, aggravated robbery and motor vehicle theft.

The victim in the incident has been identified as 38-year-old Jeremy Campbell.

According to 9News, Jeremy Campbell’s father reported his son as missing at 3:45 a.m. on Monday, Oct. 27. Campbell told authorities that his son was working as an Uber driver and left home at 10 p.m. the previous night.
