CHILLICOTHE, Ill. -- The Quincy Notre Dame boys soccer team has found new life in the postseason.

The Raiders once again came through with a victory on Saturday afternoon, defeating No. 1 seed Alleman 1-0 in the Class 1A Illinois Valley Central Sectional championship game.

"We had a tough schedule (during the regular season), but the boys are playing pretty well right now," said QND head coach Greg Reis. "We bent a little bit, but we haven't broken. So we'll just have to keep playing and see what happens."

In fact, QND played one of the toughest schedules in Class 1A, according to MaxPreps strength of schedule formula.
