It’s been more than four decades since Martha Stewart left her job on Wall Street to make content about tending to her chicken coop and growing her own green beans on her farmhouse in Connecticut. These days, influencers following in Stewart’s footsteps are are all over TikTok and Instagram — and don’t think she hasn’t noticed.
“I was the original [expletive] tradewife” Stewart told the New York Times in an interview pegged to the reissue of her 1982 book, Entertaining . And she doesn’t seem too impressed with her imitators. Apparently referring to influencers like Nara Smith or Hannah Neeleman (a.k.a. Ballerina Farm ), she added: “I was just as pretty as those girls, and more organized.”
Ouch. Sounds like Stewart won’t be getting an invite to make meatballs in Utah any
