DE SOTO, Kan. (KCTV) - The Johnson County, Kansas, Sheriff’s Office has announced charges in a single-car crash that sent a 6-year-old to the hospital on Sunday.
Deputies responded to the 9700 block of Sunflower Road in De Soto, Kansas, around 12:15 p.m. on Nov. 2 on reports of a crash.
They determined Jeyson Carabantes-Deras, 25, was driving and overcorrected, causing his car to roll. A 6-year-old girl riding in the car was seriously injured and taken to a nearby hospital.
According to the department, Carabantes-Deras appeared intoxicated and was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence after completing DUI testing.
