KINGSTON, N.Y. — Early voting far surpassed that of the last time local elections were held in Ulster County two years ago, according to the Ulster County Board of Elections.

The statistics show that voter turnout this past early voting period was 11,637 compared to 9,447 in 2023, a difference of 2,190 more early votes, or 23.18% more in a local election year.

This year, early voting comprised 8.06% of the 129,827 eligible voters, while in 2023, that number was 7.54% of the 125,145 eligible voters.
