KINGSTON, N.Y. — SUNY Chancellor John B. King Jr. visited SUNY Ulster’s Kingston Center on Monday as part of his Reconnect Tour promoting the state’s free community college program for adult learners, which began in the fall 2025 semester.

The program, part of SUNY’s Reconnect initiative, provides free tuition, fees, books and supplies to adults ages 25-55 without a college degree to pursue an associate’s degree in a high-demand field.

King touted SUNY Ulster’s advanced manufacturing program, which provides students the opportunity to develop a career in high-tech manufacturing, so they can enter the workforce or advance in their existing manufacturing career.
