A woman was run over twice by a Toronto police cruiser as officers attempted to detain her on Saturday afternoon.
Police responded to reports of a woman with two large knives who was “actively damaging vehicles” in Jane Park Plaza near Jane Street and Alliance Avenue around 3:30 p.m. on Saturday.
She had allegedly slashed the tires of three cruisers when police deployed a conducted energy weapon to disarm her, TPS spokesperson Stephanie Sayer told the Star.
“As officers moved to take the suspect into custody, another officer arrived on scene to assist. During this response, the officer’s vehicle inadvertently rolled forward into both the suspect and one of the arresting officers,” she said.
Videos posted online appear to show the woman walking through the parking lot, repeatedly
