SPOKANE — The coats KXLY 4 News Now collected in October are becoming available this week to families across the Inland Northwest.

This year, the Coats 4 Kids program marked 40 years of keeping children warm during harsh Inland Northwest winters, distributing thousands of donated coats.

The Northeast Community Center rolled out racks of winter coats Monday, marking the beginning of this year's distribution effort that spans from Moscow to Sandpoint and Spokane to Republic. The program addresses a critical need for families who must choose between purchasing winter clothing and paying essential bills.
