Not having it open in 2024 saved $200,000 in expenses. This year it was slated to be torn out, but city council nixed it from the budget, saving $45,000.

Candidate Pete Monaco says it should be torn out in the near future.

“They’ve got two, they’ve got to live with two and I’m not in favor of a third one,” he said.

Candidate Shane Garrabrant says the city should demolish it, but should wait to do so.

“If you can save some money by not demolishing it this year and push it off a little bit, I think that would be in our best interest,” he said.
