MEMPHIS, Tenn. -- An immigration attorney says his clients are being targeted by ICE.
Immigration Attorney Colton Bane says ICE is targeting Hispanic people who have not committed crimes and are in the process of becoming legal citizens.
“What I've been seeing more of is targeting of young individuals, specifically ones that already have special immigrant juvenile status. This is a sort of quasi status, as the government has essentially put them in line for a green card because they have been abandoned, neglected, or abused by one or both parents. And so, they are they are in a lawful process,” said Immigration Attorney Colton Bane, Director of Immigrant Justice Program, Community Legal Center.
