NEW DLEHI: Supreme Court Monday requested the Bombay HC chief justice to expeditiously decide the petition filed by a special public prosecutor for quashing an FIR lodged against him by the accused whose prosecution was being conducted by the lawyer. Appearing for advocate Shekhar Kakasaheb Jagtap, senior advocate Gaurav Agrawal told a bench of CJI BR Gavai and Justice K Vinod Chandran that the petitioner, was prosecuting the accused - former Mumbai police commissioner Param Bir Singh and businessman Sanjay Punamiya - on complaints filed by another businessman Sunder Agarwal. The senior advocate told SC though Jagtap has sought quashing of the FIR lodged against him by Punamiya, the HC judges have recused themselves from hearing his petition.
