A man who threatened a Sarnia police officer was sentenced to about five months in jail.

A man Sarnia police said had a knife and threatened one of their officers has been sentenced to about five months in jail.

An officer, patrolling Exmouth Street near Copland Road around 10 a.m. on June 21, recognized a man who was wanted on outstanding warrants with Sarnia and Anishinabek police. The officer approached the man and told him he was under arrest. He refused to stop, and clenched his fists while stating, “You’re not going to arrest me,” police said.
