FREEPORT, Ill. — A suspect has been arrested after a shooting in Freeport near a local pub.
Just after 10 p.m. on Oct. 30, Freeport Police officers were called to Pretzel City Pub in the 1300 block of W. Galena Avenue for a report of a gunshot victim.
When officers arrived, they saw a 43-year-old black man with a gunshot wound to his stomach. He had suffered the wound at a different location, only coming into the bar to ask for help.
The 43-year-old man was brought to Freeport Memorial Hospital. He was then transferred to a Rockford hospital, where he is said to be in stable condition.
On Oct. 31, Freeport Police Department Officers and Detectives arrested 66-year-old Michael Blasing of Freeport in connection with the shooting.
