UDHAMPUR, Nov 3: Jal Shakti PHE Employees and Workers Association, District Udhampur, today held a meeting at the PHE Complex here under the chairmanship of Som Nath, senior trade union leader.

The members strongly criticized the Government for failing to address the genuine demands of daily wagers and casual workers.

Speaking at the meeting, Som Nath expressed disappointment over the Government’s inaction despite repeated assurances.

He said that during the recent Assembly session, no attention was given to the issues of daily wagers by either the ruling or opposition members.

He added that even after six months, the committee formed by the Government to look into workers’ demands has not submitted its report.
