(NewsNation) — Jake Haro has been sentenced to 25 years to life in prison for the murder of his seven-month-old son, Emmanuel Haro.
Haro was sentenced on Monday, two weeks after reversing his not-guilty plea for a guilty plea.
Baby Emmanuel was reported missing Aug. 14 after his mother, Rebecca Haro, initially told authorities Emmanuel had been kidnapped as she changed his diaper in the back seat of a car outside of a store. She alleged she was knocked unconscious and woke up to find her son gone.
Emmanuel’s remains have yet to be found. Haro previously pleaded guilty to child cruelty charges in another case involving an infant, but was allowed to remain free on probation.
