Flipping through the channels to catch the various sporting events this past weekend and listening to all the broadcasts got us thinking about what the hardest sport to call play-by-play for might be … and that in turn got us thinking about Jim Robson.

Robson is synonymous with the Vancouver Canucks . His calls over the franchise’s first 30 years in the NHL — led by “he’ll play … you know he’ll play … he’ll play on crutches,” regarding a clearly wounded and weary Trevor Linden during the 1994 Stanley Cup Finals — remain catchphrases in the Canuck fans’ lexicon.
