The CBS drama “Tracker” has replaced a main character with a fresh face.

Abby McEnany, who played Velma on seasons 1 and 2, did not return for season 3 of “Tracker,” which premiered on Oct. 19. Velma worked as a handler for Colter Shaw (Justin Hartley), a professional “rewardist” who uses his impressive tracking skills to assist law enforcement and private citizens in exchange for reward money.

During the Sunday, Nov. 2, episode of “Tracker,” Reenie (Fiona Rene), an attorney who helps Shaw with legal matters, interviewed several candidates to replace Velma. She decided to hire a young woman named Melanie “Mel” Day ( Cassady McClincy Zhang ) as her new assistant.

Mel told Reenie that she’s followed her career for a while and is “curious” about Shaw.
