Seeking to revitalize its brand, VillageFest in Palm Springs will attempt to broaden its appeal to both local residents and tourists, including by establishing a permanent storefront with a rotating lineup of popular vendors.

At a Palm Springs City Council meeting in late October, the VillageFest board discussed upcoming changes to the weekly festival, which draws thousands of people to downtown on Thursday evenings.

“The goal of this was to help us to celebrate the legacy of VillageFest, but also position this weekly event for continued long-term success," Palm Springs Parks and Recreation Director Nicholas Gonzalez said during the meeting.
