With SNAP benefits jeopardized, Dare County provides list of community resources
Oct. 30 Update: Elisabeth Silverthorne, Executive Director of the Beach Food Pantry, says that in light of the pending suspension of SNAP Benefits, the Pantry is implementing some changes to help fill the gap.
Anyone who needs it, even if they’ve reached their maximum number of visits this year, can make a November visit and a December visit with an application and appointment (as usual). Holiday Meals never count against their number of visits, so those will also be available starting the first week of November.
The Pantry is also preparing to set up a small service area under a tent in the front that will be stocked daily. It will be like a Little Free Pantry, but it will be able to accommodate cold item
