Penny Marshall of Perrysburg doesn’t have a dog, but now that there’s one at the school she attends, she is so happy about it that she calls the school her “second home.”
“I love having Angel here,” the 10-year-old fourth grader at Woodland Elementary said. “I like to learn and come here, and Angel just makes that better.”
Penny was one about 500 Woodland Elementary students who met Angel, a 3-year-old Labrador retriever, on Monday. The dog graduated from the Ability Center of Greater Toledo assistance-dog program in June and then was permanently assigned to the school as a facility dog at the beginning of the school year.
