Charlene “Char” Rose Sikes, 79, of Brownwood, Texas, was born in Bellwood, Illinois, to
Charlotte and Henry Reed and grew up in Melrose Park. She attended Leyden High School
and later moved to Brownwood, Texas, where she married the love of her life, Samuel Sikes.
Together they shared 36 wonderful years of marriage filled with laughter, faith, and family.
Char was the proud mother of two children, daughter
Christina Marie Beasley
and son
Samuel (Kenny) Sikes II
who were her greatest joys.
Char was a lifelong learner and hard worker. She attended Ranger Junior College and earned her
