LITTLE ROCK, Ark. — After having been a cold case for over three decades, officials have identified the human remains that had previously been found in Mississippi County.

According to reports, on June 23, 1990, the Mississippi County Sheriff’s Office reported that they found the body of a male on the banks of the Mississippi River.

However, due to the stage of decomposition, the identity of the body could not be determined at that time.

On June 18, 2024, Arkansas Attorney General Tim Griffin's Office established a new unit aimed at investigating cold cases, and that case was one of the first ones that the unit took on.
