LAREDO, Tex. (KGNS) - A Laredo man was arrested on felony charges after allegedly fleeing the scene of a hit-and-run crash that injured another driver on Mines Rd.

47-year-old Jose Saul Gomez-Montoya was charged with an accident involving injuries, following a crash near Mercury Mine Rd. and FM 1472 on Saturday, October 29.

Police said the driver of a black Nissan was returning from work in the 22200 block of FM 1472 when a red car made a U-turn and failed to stop at a stop sign. The red car collided with the Nissan, causing extensive damage to the front of the vehicle. The Nissan’s driver was treated at the scene and taken to Doctors Hospital for further care.

A witness told police that a small red four-door vehicle ran the stop signs, crashed into the Nissan, then fled the scene. An o
