WASHINGTON — On the eve of closely watched elections in California, New Jersey, New York City and Virginia, Latino voters say they are most concerned about the economy and their cost of living, a new poll shows.

Pocketbook issues such as jobs and affordable housing are largely responsible for Latinos’ negative views of President Donald Trump, 64% of whom say they disapprove of the job he is doing, according to a new bipartisan poll from UnidosUS released on Monday.

“The message from Hispanic voters was clear: Lower costs, raise wages,” BSP Research President Gary Segura said Monday during a press briefing on the poll’s results. “It has been our consistent finding for months now, for years now, that the economy is front of mind.”
