KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) - A wave of community support is running through Lenoir City as volunteers rallied to provide essential food items to families impacted by a delay in SNAP benefits.
On Nov. 1, many families across East Tennessee and beyond found themselves without their monthly SNAP benefits, a critical lifeline for those facing food insecurity.

The delay in benefits created an immediate crisis for many.
“Some people, they have their October benefits that they’ve got some left on their card, or their fridge and stuff is still stocked. And some of us, what we do get barely lasts us the month,” Ciara Holmes, a single mother of three, said.
