A Delhi court recently acquitted the former coal secretary HC Gupta and ex-civil servant KS Kropha, along with three others, in a coal scam case.

According to a Bar and Bench report, Special Judge Dheeraj Mor of the Rouse Avenue Court ruled that no essential elements for criminal conspiracy, cheating, or forgery were established against Gupta and Kropha and two top executives of RKM Powergen Private Ltd.

The court's verdict came while hearing the case linked to the alleged irregularities in the allocation of the Fatehpur East coal block in Chhattisgarh to RKM Powergen Pvt Ltd.
