FARGO, N.D. (KVRR) — Food pantries across the metro area are preparing for an influx of people coming in after a weekend of families not receiving their SNAP benefits.
Emergency Food Pantry in Fargo is treating this week normally, but they decided to aid in offering a second basket of food for people who previously received one in October.
The pantry typically offers families baskets once every other month, but is offering a second helping.
But the operators say they have seen a lot more people coming in this year than last year.
“We know the majority of people who are here and getting SNAP, as well as just getting food baskets, are working. It’s that fine line of having enough funds in order to pay for basic needs,” said Stacie Loegering, Executive Director at the Emergency Food Pant
