PHOENIX – Authorities canceled a SAFE Alert on Monday after finding the body of a West Valley man who went missing last week.

Robert Jones, 70, was last seen at a Chevron fuel center near Buckeye Road and 51st Avenue around 9:30 p.m. on Oct. 28. He had left his home near Buckeye Road and Avondale Boulevard in Avondale around 7 p.m.

His body was found on Sunday in a farm area near Loop 202 and Buckeye Road in Phoenix, according to Derek Rogers, a spokesman with the Avondale Police Department.

“At this time, foul play is not believed to be a factor,” Rogers said in a Monday announcement. “The Maricopa County Medical Examiner’s Office will determine the cause of death.”
