The mine has not been operating since February with mounting debts and about 250 workers for contractor RStar Mining were recently told they could no longer be paid .
The Mining and Energy Union (MEU) had demanded owner Sanjeev Gupta sell the mine if he could not afford to restart operations.
This had not happened, and with administrators now running parent company Liberty Primary Meta
