SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (Dakota News Now) - After issuing a subpoena to South Dakota’s Secretary of State, Monae Johnson, members of the government operations & audit committee have made it clear they are done waiting.
Concerns from those who spoke during public comment at last Thursday’s meeting and from lawmakers largely focused on election security.
Missouri-based KNOWiNK, the company that operates the state’s total-vote system, which you might remember had a big crash as people tried to vote last year.
But the dispute remains over whether questions have been sufficiently answered.
The state currently has a contract worth $4.5 million to update the TotalVote system.
