CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — The trial for a Clarksville mother now found guilty of reckless homicide offered more insight into the involvement of the Department of Children’s Services.
An autopsy completed the day after he died in July 2022 showed that 13-year-old Kadaris Maddox, who had cerebral palsy, weighed just 35 pounds when he died. The autopsy also noted marks around his body. The report concluded Kadaris died from starvation, with his manner of death marked homicide.
Cindy Oliver was a home health nurse who helped supervise Kadaris’ case. She told News 2 about the last time she saw Kadaris, just over a month before he died.
“All his joy was gone, and he was pleading, pleading, and I promised him, I swore to him I would get him help,” Oliver said.
