CALHOUN COUNTY, W.Va. — The former Calhoun County commissioner and elementary school teacher facing a number of child sexual abuse charged had his case sent to circuit court.
Jacob McCumbers, 39, of Arnoldsburg, appeared in court Monday for a preliminary hearing, where special magistrate Tamra Milhoan found probable cause to send the case to Calhoun County Circuit Court.
McCumbers, the former teacher at Arnoldsburg Elementary School, is facing 50 counts of sexual abuse by a parent, guardian, or custodian. He was arrested in September after authorities with the State Police Child Victim Unit were told about his alleged actions during a child forensic interview.
The alleged victim told investigators that McCumbers had started abusing him when he was younger than 10 and continued for eight
