After more than a decade, New Britain will soon have a new mayor.

“Taxes are huge. Property taxes, car taxes, take care of it,” Diane Kennedy, of New Britain, said.

From taxes to education, there are a lot of issues people think can be improved.

New Britain will soon have new leadership as Mayor Erin Stewart is not running after 12 years – six terms – and is exploring a run for governor.

“I think she's laid a great foundation for whoever becomes mayor,” Alderwoman Sharon Beloin-Saavedra (R – Candidate for New Britain Mayor) said.

“There has been progress. I admit to that,” Rep. Bobby Sanchez (D – Candidate for New Britain Mayor) said. “But there's some policies that just are not working.”
