An Australian expat has described how he watched in horror as the man accused of carrying out a mass stabbing aboard a British train roamed the carriages.
Matt Kingston was returning to his London home on Saturday on the train when other passengers began running and screaming.
He told Ben Fordham on 2GB radio he was seated with his back to them, but heard someone shout: "He's got a knife, run, run."
Kingston took his headphones off and followed them, making his way to the train's cafe bar.
With its steel shutters being closed, he realised it offered a makeshift safe haven.
"I noticed some train staff were shutting the shutters, trying to get locked in and the door was still open ... I thought this seems safe."
The Australian joined nine others crammed inside the small space.
