SARASOTA, Fla. (WWSB) - The Full Beaver Supermoon rises on Wednesday at 5:41 p.m. The full moon for November is referred to as the “Beaver” because this is the time of year the beavers seek shelter in their winter homes.

It is going to be the brightest supermoon of the year! It will be 30% brighter and 14% bigger when it rises on Wednesday at 5:44 p.m. This will be the 6th supermoon of the year. A supermoon is defined as a full moon that occurs when the moon is at it’s closest point to earth in its travels around the earth.

If you miss this one not to worry as there will be another one in December, known as the “Cold Moon”. This will be number 2 in 4 consecutive supermoons with the last one in January 2026 a rare streak indeed.
