LOS ANGELES -- Perhaps Roki Sasaki had to see what all the fuss was about.
Yoshinobu Yamamoto is coming off a sophomore season in the Majors that saw him finish as a finalist in National League Cy Young Award voting for the first time -- and an even better postseason run in which he earned World Series Most Valuable Player honors with a vintage performance that ranks among the greatest in franchise history.
Now Sasaki knows firsthand -- almost -- just how tough of an at-bat his countrymate can be.
Sasaki posted a few videos of himself taking a simulated at-bat against Yamamoto in the Dodger Stadium batting cages on his Instagram story on Monday. To his credit, Sasaki made some contact, fouling off strike two before swinging through strike three.
