SPOKANE VALLEY, Wash. – Deputies responded to an Automated License Plate Reader (ALPR) alert about a stolen license plate, leading to the arrest of two convicted felons, Spokane Valley Police (SVP) said in a release .
On November 2, a Spokane Regional Emergency Communications Officer alerted deputies about the stolen plate seen on a Honda Pilot. The vehicle was found in a parking lot in the 15700 block of E. Broadway Avenue.
Deputies identified the suspects, who attempted to flee. During the pursuit, investigators said the suspects both discarded loaded handguns, which were later recovered.
The suspect, both convicted felons and not legally allowed to possess firearms, were taken into custody and booked into jail on various charges, SVP said.
