David Beckham is set to receive his knighthood after years in pursuit of the honour . The Manchester United and England legend will be recognised for his contributions to sport and charity on Tuesday.

Beckham , one of the most iconic figures in English football , was previously awarded an OBE in 2003. Having been rumoured to be in line for a knighthood since 2011, he will finally become Sir David following his inclusion in King Charles' Birthday Honours list this past June.
